So the meerkat, wow what a phenomenon, i did try knitting one and it looked OK but didn't like the sewing it up part. crochet doesn't need much sewing, here's my wee fellow, work in progress 6th of July 2010.

started the body next, here's a quarter of it done, just working this one in the same colour, its a variegated wool. if it works out OK the next one i will make the back darker and a lighter tummy and face, perhaps try fun fur or similar wool.body

I ripped the body back to just below the neck as i thought he was ending up a rather fat meerkat. redone the stitches and got a slimmer one, not sure if the ears are big enough or if the eye patch is too big...hmmmmmm may need to think about this
finished the body, much better, not sure if its too long or not.... started adding the legs, 8th of July
